Since our launch in 2016, we have grown and established ourselves as a network that’s committed to bringing real transformative change to the aid sector. In the next three years, we plan to continue working alongside our members to influence complex policy conversations and develop concrete solutions. Our new strategic plan covers the next three years (2021-2023). It is developed with our members through an open participatory process and supports our mission to reinvent aid through innovative ideas, knowledge sharing, and influencing. More specifically, we want to:
influence the sector,
while facilitating practical and innovative solutions that build on the experience and knowledge of the global south.
In this second strategic plan, we share our new mission and vision, define who we are, our values, and share the most strategic direction and areas of focus for our network for the next three years. With the insights of our members, we have developed three programmatic goals and two functional ones for this period.
Our three programmatic goals are:
Influence policy and attitudes to reinvent the aid system as one that is equitable and locally-led;
Create an instrument of exchange, learning, and sharing to enrich Global South approaches toward effective and efficient humanitarian and development practices, and;
Launch new financing mechanisms that provide more inclusive, efficient and impactful ways of funding humanitarian and development initiatives.
Our two functional goals are:
Achieve a sustainable financial base for NEAR to support and expand the ambitions of its members;
Grow NEAR’s membership base for greater reach and coverage.
