We've just wrapped up an impactful week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City - our fourth year participating. Each year, NEAR continues to find its path between being present in key global conversations and ensuring those conversations include the voices of our members.
Last year, we were joined by one member representative. This year, we were proud to have two new members step into that space, marking a shift toward more purposeful, member-led representation.
A huge thank you is in order to Loreine Dela Cruz, Centre for Disaster Preparedness (CDP) Foundation in the Philippines & member of the NEAR Leadership Council, and Sema Genel Karaosmanoğlu, Hayata Destek Derneği | Support to Life, member of the Advisory Panel on the Future of Humanitarian Action and former Chair of NEAR’s Leadership Council.
We’re excited for you to hear directly from them in this edition of our newsletter — sharing their insights, experiences, and the importance of local leadership on global stages.
