ุฏูู ุดุจุงุจ Tamdeen Youth Foundation - as part of the Yemen Localisation Initiative - sheds light on a critical gap in the humanitarian aid system: the persistent underfunding and marginalisation of local and national civil society organisations (L/NNGOs) in Yemen.
๐ Despite being on the frontlines, L/NNGOs in Yemen receive on average only 1.76% of direct funding annually.
This study calls for bold, transformative action:

Leveraging innovative funding sources, such as ๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ (๐ญ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ๐, ๐ช๐ฎ๐พ๐ณ) and private sector engagement;
โ
Addressing elite capture and ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฒ๐พ๐๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐ for grassroots and women-led organisations.
This is more than just about funding โ itโs about shifting power, enhancing resilience, and fostering a more localised, equitable, and sustainable humanitarian ecosystem in Yemen.
